Caveat Labs is a cybersecurity consulting and research company. Led by industry veteran, Chuck Davis, Caveat Labs provides vCISO services to companies and non-profit organizations and pCISO services for public figures and families. Never before has the need for personal and business cybersecurity been so important.
Caveat Labs is a passion project turned into a cybersecurity company. In the early 1990’s the founder of Caveat Labs was hired to work for the first commercial Internet Service Provider in the world. Within three years he experienced his first major hack, when someone compromised an email server to send out spam and spoofed email. The weeks that it took to track this hacker down was the most interesting and fascinating puzzle he had ever been challenged with and at that point, he became passionate about cybersecurity.
On the blue team side, it’s all about defending the network, endpoints, enterprise and data. On the red team side, it’s all about finding ways to circumvent access and security controls that were put in place. To be successful in this industry, it helps to be very right brained and left brained. Caveat Labs is passionate about securing the Internet and the world by creatively working with our customers to educate, architect, deploy and protect.
Chuck Davis, Founder
Chuck Davis is a cybersecurity veteran with over 20 years of experience working in many technical and managerial roles in cyber security. At the core, Mr. Davis is a technologist. He holds 10 US Patents and co-authored two books. Chuck holds numerous certifications including CISSP-ISSAP, he is an ISSA Senior member and former board member, he is also a former ISSA Chapter President. Mr. Davis architected, designed and deployed solutions for network and endpoint DLP, Network Access Control, Malware Defense, Computer Forensic, Intrusion Detection/Intrusion Prevention (IDS/IPS), Two-factor authentication, Splunk ES, and a virtual desktop solution for secure, crown jewel development. He also managed IDS for the September 11th relief fund telethon (tributetoheroes.org). In his more than 25 years working in cybersecurity, Davis has worked as a Global Vice President of Information Security, an Executive Security Architect, and a Manager of Global Cyber Defense for multi-billion dollar and Fortune 500 companies.
As a public speaker, Mr. Davis has presented at more than 100 conferences and events around the globe and has been interviewed on TV, radio, print and online publications. In addition to his work as a cyber security professional, Mr. Davis is an educator. He has taught undergraduate and graduate students at three universities in the United States over the past twelve years and is currently working as an adjunct professor of Computer Science at the University of Denver, teaching master’s degree courses in Ethical Hacking and Computer Forensics.
